New Year\u2019s resolutions are timeless. Year after year, the same resolutions hold true. For example, more than 50 percent of Americans vowed to appreciate loved ones and spend more time with family and friends<\/b> this year. Others have opted for regular exercise<\/b>, which keeps you healthy and makes you look and feel better. Over 66 percent of adult Americans are considered overweight or obese, so it\u2019s not surprising that weight loss<\/b> is another popular resolution. If you\u2019ve resolved to make this year the one to quit smoking<\/b>, over-the-counter availability of nicotine replacement therapy provides more access than ever to proven quit-smoking aids. Given the hectic, stressful lifestyles of millions of Americans, it\u2019s no wonder that enjoying life more<\/b> is a popular resolution to make. If you decide that you want to quit drinking<\/b>, there is a world of help and support out in the world. Millions of Americans have resolved to get out of debt<\/b> this year. Learning something new<\/b> is perhaps one of the easiest, most motivating resolutions to keep. A popular, selfless New Year\u2019s resolution is to help others<\/b>. Finally, on just about everyone\u2019s mind is organization<\/b>, which can be a very reasonable goal.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, your resolutions just won\u2019t stick. For example, you didn\u2019t make a plan for it. Next time? Be proactive. Or, you forgot the reasons why you were doing it. Next time? Clarify. Sometimes, you didn\u2019t plan for setbacks. Next time? Recognize that things may come up. Also, you may not have had a strong enough support network. Next time, gather your groupies! Another reason is simply taking on too much too fast. Next time? Take it one step at a time.<\/p>\n

There are several different types of resolution categories, including self-improvement or education-related resolutions, weight-related resolutions, money-related resolutions and relationship-related resolutions.<\/p>\n
