They set the business on the correct path and give everyone their marching orders. I don\u2019t know about you, but that sounds a lot like my mom. And it brings to mind a line from the movie, <em>My Big Fat Greek Wedding<\/em>. After saying, \u201cthe man is the head of the house,\u201d the wife goes on to say, \u201cthe woman is the neck, and she can turn the head any way she wants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So it is with the household CEO, which is more often than not, the wife.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3348\" alt=\"Household CEO Balances the Budget\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.123print.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Balance-the-Budget-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>As the CEO of your family, your job is to:<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Set the strategy<\/strong> \u2014 establishing what will and won\u2019t go on the family calendar, the Bible by which every family lives.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Review the household P&amp;L (profit and loss) statement<\/strong> \u2014 balancing the checkbook, monitoring bank statements and depositing paychecks.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Establish the budget<\/strong> \u2014 setting allowances and paying bills.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Define the supply chain<\/strong> \u2014 determining which stores your family will favor.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Manage risk<\/strong> \u2014 taking family members to preventative healthcare checkups and equipping children with protective gear like helmets.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Bring in the appropriate consultants and advisors<\/strong> \u2014 leaning on friends and family members to assist as necessary.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Authorize corporate events<\/strong> \u2014 planning birthday parties, family outings and other fun stuff.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Adapt the strategy as events warrant<\/strong> \u2014rescheduling dentist appointments, play dates and more at the shortest notice.<\/p>\n<p>Many domestic CEOs also have a corner office, but it\u2019s more than likely a soccer field or park. While it\u2019s true, the household CEO\u2019s decisions rarely pertain to multibillion-dollar deals, you control the ultimate success of your family, which is priceless.<\/p>\n<p>Let us know about your role as CEO of the family.
