While traditional wrapping paper, bows, ribbon and gift tag labelsare tried and true traditions, why not try a few of these creative wrapping ideas for some of your most lucky gift recipients? (You can even start the creative juices flowing by actually throwing that holiday gift wrapping party and having each guest bring a roll of wrapping paper to share!)
Depending on the size of your gift, you can make wrapping paper with customized messages from the help of just your computer and printer.
Use small objects or trinkets to accent a bow.
Wrap your present in plain white paper with a brightly colored ribbon for a vibrant POP!
Don’t have any ribbon? A piece of colored tape wrapped around the present does the same trick!
Or better yet, use a hole punch to give a piece of colored construction paper some added texture and use it like you would a ribbon.
Giving a present to a chef or food lover? Tie on a new kind of bow with a bow-tie noodle!
Don’t forget you can use any kind of paper to wrap a gift in! (Old wallpaper, maps, newspapers … the list goes on and on!)
Need to package a gift on the fly? Try a decorative gift box to maintain the cute-wrapping-paper look!
Looking for a way to wrap a present for a young niece or daughter? Use a cute hair-tie to secure the top of the gift that she can use later.
Buy some stick-on letters to stick on name tags for your gift recipients!
Did you just remodel your house? Cut up those paint chips to use as gift tags
Use a fresh flower as a bow to add an ultra-feminine touch
Give your presents an extra burst of color by wrapping a piece of colored construction paper on top of the wrapped gift, then add a similarly colored ribbon to get the full effect
Use colorful plastic bags instead of wrapping paper
Wrap a bottle of sparkling cider or wine in a dish towel for a two-in-one hostess gift
Using an old-fashioned circular box such as a hat box is a fun, creative way to hold a present
