4 Business Tips for A Stay-At-Home Parent

Just because you've assumed the stay-at-home parent role doesn't mean you need to put your dream job on hold. In today's age, there are plenty of ways to make money without leaving your house. Here are some business tips for the stay-at-home parent:

1. Earn Money Through Your Hobbies
If you're looking to earn some cash on the side, start with an activity you already enjoy. Do you love to sew? Well, it's easy to set up an account on Etsy.com, and sell your crafts. Or you can utilize some of your other skill sets. For example, if you were a teacher, you can always tutor without even leaving the house. Plus, it probably won't be hard to find kids that need some extra help. Inform parents of your kid's friends to spread the word that if anyone is looking for a tutor to give you a call.

2. Become A Blogger
Lifestyle blogs are all the rage on the Internet. You may even have a couple of them you browse on a daily basis. Well, that's because not only is blogging fun, but it can pay the bills, too. Running a blog can earn you money through clicks, sponsors, etc. According to Wisebread, banner ads pay upwards $300 to have content on bloggers' sites. Plus, if you build up a good following you could even get free things. Blogging has more than just monetary benefits. This can be a great way to archive your family's life through photos and posts. Perhaps one day when your little ones are older, they can look back on your posts and remember the younger periods of their lives.

3. Host A Daycare
Even as a stay-at-home parent, you probably know how hard it is to land the perfect and affordable nanny or babysitter. Odds are fellow parents in the area feel the same way. Childcare is expensive, and you can make your home into a daycare for other children. That way, your kids can socialize with others, and you can make some money while parenting even if it's only a couple of hours a day or times a week. Make promotional flyers to hang up around your community.

4. Become A Secret Shopper
How does making money while you're shopping for all the ingredients for dinner that night sound? Well, that dream can be a reality by becoming a secret shopper. This kind of job is perfect for stay-at-home parents because it allows you to make your own schedule. That way, you still have the flexibility of not having a full-time job. You could work part time, less or more. Plus, secret shopping has plenty of other perks. It takes you to plenty of stores and establishments you may have never been to before. Sometimes you can get assignments at restaurants, which allows you to bring the entire family along. Some of your assignments, like food delivery, don't even require you to leave your home.
