Innovative Ways You Can Use Your Business Flyers

Marketing is one of the most essential aspects of getting any new business off the ground – if a company doesn't put its name out there, it will have a very difficult time drumming up enough business to stay afloat. For most new companies, things like word-of-mouth and digital marketing are a big priority. These types of promotion don't cost a lot of money and are known for being very effective. But marketing strategies that use tangible advertisements – like postcards or door hangers – also have high success rates.

Business flyers are cost-effective and can be used to make a personal connection with potential customers and drive people to a storefront. Plus, they don't have to be just slipped under people's doors or left under their windshield wipers – there are other ways to make business flyer marketing effective. Here are a few innovative ideas you can use:

Get Digital
Business flyers don't necessarily need to be completely non-digital. In fact, you can get more bang for you buck by turning them into a digital asset for your company. Scan your flyer, and craft several online promotions you can use to distribute it to potential clients. Put it in an email newsletter, share it on social media or use it on your company's blog. Whether you share your flyer online or not, you can also simply use it as a tool to drive people to your website or digital marketplace. Use a QR code that people can easily scan with their mobile devices, and include some sort of call to action to get people interested in learning more.

Hand Them Out Yourself
When flyers are left for potential customers to find, they're only as effective as the design and text you choose. When you and your team members hand them out yourselves, however, you have the added advantage of talking to your prospective clients face to face and making a more personal connection. Set up events, head to shopping malls or simply walk around your neighborhood at lunch time, and bring flyers with you. Come up with a quick pitch that doesn't require too much of the people you meet with – asking them to sign up for something on the spot, for instance, will put many people off, whereas handing out a coupon for a free service will make them much more likely to visit your business later.

Use Them to Recruit
Drumming up new customers isn't the only use for business flyers. In fact, they can be a very effective tool for recruiting. Make a game out of it: Design recruiting flyers, and give some to each of your employees. Have them write their name on each flyer in their stack and visit nearby office buildings, restaurants or stores to try recruiting people. The person who recruits the most potential new hires (even if you don't end up hiring them) can win a prize or a free paid day off. According to Forbes, offering to reward employees for successful recruiting is a great way to get them motivated and effective for finding new team members.
