Do you feel that Black Friday has kind of lost some of its magic? I mean after all, you can go online and see the ads like a month in advance and in all honesty, it’s pretty much been the same kinds of items on sale for the past three years and since their regular prices have dropped the sales aren’t even that great anymore. Yet people still wait in line for days and stores keep opening earlier and earlier – to the point where some are even open on Thanksgiving this year!
No matter whether you think the sales are really all that spectacular or not; the one thing you have to admit is that Black Friday is primo for people watching! It’s also the perfect opportunity to act ridiculous and mess with people’s heads! This is particularly fun to do if you really could care less about shopping but you end up getting dragged out of your turkey-induced slumber to freeze your butt off before the crack of dawn by someone who supposedly loves you. So without further ado…we present:
Our Favorite Ridiculously Annoying Things to Do on Black Friday
(Warning: 123Print, its employees and its parent company assume no responsibility for civil, criminal or butt-whoopin’ actions that may be taken against you for doing any of this! You assume all responsibility for your own behavior!)
Find a checkout line that’s sure to build behind you and then pay for your purchase with a mason jar full of pennies – hey, times are tight and pennies are money, right?
Dress up like a store employee and wander around the store answering questions people ask with nonsense answers – this one’s easy, a pair of khakis and a few solid-color polo shirts in primary colors will work for most chain stores.
Quietly walk through the store and then point and loudly announce that you see a pile of some really hot item that’s likely sold out – let’s just say this worked really well back when Furbies were all the rage!
Before entering the store, eat bean burritos, lots of bean burritos – ‘nuff said.
Find some other poor soul who got suckered into shopping and have drag races with those shopping carts for kids with the cars or trucks attached to the front of them – grab some realistic dolls from the toy section to put in the cars for added effect!
Stand in a checkout line for a while and then just leave your cart there and walk away – this is even better if you put an item in it that you know everyone wants just to see if anyone snags it!
Walk around blasting a recording of Rebecca Black’s “Friday” repeatedly for all to hear – if you have any sand you’ll dance around and re-create scenes from the video!
Find one of those video game demonstration displays where you can actually play the game and challenge all comers with the flair of 1980’s-style pro wrestling – particularly fun when you do this around some kiddie game or one that’s just lame.
Get about a dozen people to accompany you and stand in line at a store that also sells mundane grocery and household items and when they open the doors have your group make a mad sprint; yelling, pushing each other, jumping, etc. for the toilet paper display – extra points it you manage to find a store where a TV news camera crew is filming the action and your ridiculousness makes the evening news!
