National Small Business Week is a recognition of the “critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners” by the President of the United States. Each year since 1963, the Prez has issued a proclamation acknowledging you for all your hard work. And you 100-percent deserve it! DID YOU KNOW? America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners and their employees make up more than half of the American workforce. Also, small businesses create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year. Did you even know there was such a thing as National Small Business Week? There is! For the past 50 years, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week. In this year’s proclamation, President Barack Obama said, “For centuries, America’s progress has been driven by pioneers who think big, take risks, and work hard. Where their ideas take root, we find inventions that can change the way we live. And when their businesses take off, they fuel an engine of economic growth and job creation that moves America forward.
