4 Tips For Throwing The Most Witching Halloween Party

[credit: squidoo]

Witches and goblins and ghosts, oh my! With the most spook-tastic time of year rounding the bend, many businesses and organizations have thought out and planned how they will approach their customer base this Halloween. Whether it is through “scary-good savings” or a “frightfully fantastic free gift,” companies are prepping and plotting. However, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” so reward your hard work with a company Halloween party! Check out these four toad-ally awesome party ideas to get you into the Halloween spirit.
  • Bone Appetit – First and foremost is, of course, the food. I mean, what good party doesn’t have munchies? Whether you are partial to marinated mozzarella eyeballs, “rats in blood,” (AKA – spaghetti and meatballs) or Frankenstein finger cookies, your belly will be full of delicious treats, without the tricks! Have every employee bring a dish and indulge in your Halloween goodies.

  • Creative Costumes – If you attend a Halloween party and don’t wear a costume, you have no soul … see what I did there?! Anyway, have each employee come to work dressed in their favorite get-up, then vote on the funniest, scariest, most original and best overall costumes. Give out prizes and awards to those that win, such as skeleton trophies or a gift certificate to go see the latest scary movie.

Demonic Decorations – You can have all the food and epic costume-wear you want, but without wicked decorations, your party will be a bust. Using only candlelight will create your spooky setting, no matter if you use tealight candles or flameless candles. You can also hang frayed curtains, cheesecloth spiderwebs, glowing ghost balloons or bat garland – all cheap, yet perfect for your celebration.
  • Bewitching Activities – Keep the momentum going with fun and interesting activities. Bob for apples, play “pin the stem on the pumpkin,” have a “ghost hunt” where employees have to find the hidden ghost in the office or sing Halloween-themed karaoke songs. Activities will get people excited and keep them happy and conversing.

Halloween is the one time of year (for most, at least) where you can be dark, mysterious and someone you’re not. So whether it’s with family, friends or employees, celebrate this ghouling time the right way!

“Old witch Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? With moss and slime and poisonous vine, and toadstools all in a row.”
