Trend: Wedding Save the Date Magnets
Nothing says “we’re stuck on each other” like a wedding save the date magnet! Let’s face it, guests are busy people, too, and they might not always remember where they put your precious save the date! Custom magnets literally save the day, which is why they are becoming more and more popular with brides and grooms. Guests no longer have to search through piles of paper at their home office to locate your wedding save the date — they can just look at the fridge where they stuck it upon receipt.
There are two main design directions that you can go with wedding save the date magnets. The first is a custom magnet with a photo of the happy couple and wedding details. The second option is a simplified version with just the wedding announcement and date without a photo. The latter option works well, say, if you didn’t have time to get engagement photos done before sending out your save the dates, or if you’re not that big on photos.
Trend: His-and-Hers Labels
One of the really fun aspects of planning your wedding is the personalization that comes with it. Besides picking out wedding accessories and other items that suit you as a couple and have meaning, there are certain details that you can leave your custom stamp on with bride and groom names, wedding date and possibly a little tagline. Labels are the perfect, simple way to do this, and can be used on everything from the back of your wedding invitations to your favor bags at the reception to your out-of-town guest gift bags. It’s a nice touch.
Trend: Casual Wedding Invitations
Of course, there are all different styles of weddings, including the more traditional and formal, but we’re finding for 2014 that a lot of brides are opting for more casual wedding invitations. This could go hand-in-hand with the popularity and continued rise of destination weddings inside and outside of the United States. The rustic and bohemian wedding styles are also huge right now, and slightly more casual wedding invitations make sense for those themes. Speaking of rustic, I love this Pure Country wedding invitation — how cute?! If you’re hosting a coastal wedding, this Waves of Love wedding invitation is pretty cool, and I can see a boho bride digging this gorgeous and colorful Springtime Love wedding invitation pattern. Anyway, there are various casual motifs to choose from, depending on your personal style, the wedding theme and location.
Trend: DIY Vinyl Banners
Savvy, budget-conscious brides look for items that they can save on so that they can splurge elsewhere (the dress, the cake, the venue — whichever’s most important). These brides looking for places to save are selecting DIY items, such as vinyl banners for their weddings. And by DIY, I don’t necessarily mean start-from-scratch DIY (though if you are handy like that, go for it!). You can work with an existing wedding banner template and customize it with your details — easy peasy.
