Planning a wedding Audrey Hepburn would approve of may be simpler than you think. While various wedding trends come and go, Hollywood glamour is one that has stood the test of time, and for obvious reasons. What better captures a fairy tale wedding than one gleaming with over-the-top opulence? From fashion to florals, and everything in between, try on a few of these ideas for a gorgeously glam wedding!

Add All-Over Sparkle
You know how you found a diamond in the
rough when you met your fiance? Make that a theme that carries through the décor of your event. Ask your florist to incorporate pearls (real or faux are both fine!) into Ivory Bridal Hair Comb from Etsyyour bouquet for a sweet flourish. The same goes for your cake — brides everywhere are opting for a bit of bling on top of the icing. And that updo? Yes, do adorn it with a luxe headpiece like, this Ivory Bridal Hair Comb from Etsy. Basically, bling out as much as you want.

Focus on Fashion
PETAL glamorous wedding gown by Jenny PackhamNothing says “glamour” more than an awe-inspiring wedding gown. Look for handcrafted embellishments, intricate lace and eye-catching draping in a gorgeous gown. This glamorous wedding gown, called Petal by Jenny Packham would look regal whether you’re at a St. Regis reception, or twirling on the dance floor at a wedding done at home. Accessorize your head-turning ensemble with equally swoon-worthy accouterments, including a long, romantic veil, like this one from Nina Claire, and Cinderella-inspired shoes, like these Sawyer heels from Kate Spade. Next: Don faux lashes and add a swipe of red lipstick. Pure goddess.

Be Bubbly
The perfect glamorous addition to your wedding event: Take a cue from Martha Stewart Weddings and create a Champagne tower for a presentation that pops! Just pour your favorite brand of bubbly and adorn your display with a bow. Drink up!

Dish Delicately
Regardless of your budget, passed hors d’oeuvres are a simple way to elevate the glam factor at your wedding. There’s just something indulgent about nibbling on tiny passed plates. Prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, stuffed dates and mini crab cakes all make for a gourmet vibe (and are huge crowd-pleasers!). Serve them during your cocktail hour post-ceremony and pre-reception alongside signature cocktails. This carved-out period of mixing and mingling gives distinctive decadence to an event. So posh.

  1. This wedding dress from UK designer Alan Hannah is from the Topaz collection and features the elegant, sophisticated styles their wedding gowns are known for. Strapless gowns have this instant Hollywood glam effect and the billowy skirt reminds me a lot of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic picture. What’s great about this dress is that you don’t have to be cokehead skinny to look gorgeous in it as the skirt hides any bulges on the lower abdominal area. To look even more glamorous, wear a statement necklace with large, glittering diamonds (or imitations. No one will ever know!).
