Raise your hand if you love purple. Me, me, me, me, ME! I DO! When Pantone named “radiant orchid” the 2014 color of the year, I was happy. As a small child, I wanted to have a purple wedding. Oh sure, by the time I got married I switched to aqua. But when one of my best friends opted for purple, I kind of kicked myself. So if you love purple, this is the year to do it!
On the Pantone home page, they say, “Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”
OK, come on. Who doesn’t want that?! So let’s take a look at your radiant orchid, a.k.a. purple, a.k.a. plum, options.
Obviously you would want to start out with gorgeous save the date cards. Better yet, save the date magnets, so people will stick that striking engagement photo of yours right on their refrigerators and think of you as your wedding approaches.
Next come the wedding invitations. You can go with the same design theme as your save the date announcement or opt for a coordinating design.
At 123Print, we make it easy to find all of your purple options by letting you refine your options by color.
Lest your groom, best man, groomsmen or ushers feel left out, consider incorporating an orchid hue into their attire. Thank heavens the colored leisure suit look is out and you can go for something a tad more subtle. Say orchid argyle socks or maybe a bow tie. Dashing!
During the ceremony, another place to incorporate your color theme could be the unity ceremony. If you will be using a candle, you could choose a rich, plum-colored unity candle or have orchid lettering or ribbon as an embellishment. If you opt for sand, this regal combination of black, white and deep purple stands out.
As you move through your special day, 123Print’s Vineyard Romance wedding menu can outline the upcoming courses of the meal.
Beyond the obvious choices of bridesmaid dresses, table decorations, venue stylings and flowers, why not carry out your wedding color theme in your bridal party gifts? These beautiful Invitations by Dawn Hip Crest Berry personalized coasters would make an awesome remembrance of your wedding!
Pretty in purple. Or should we say opulent in orchid? Either way, we approve of making 2014 the year of radiant orchid. And if you’re looking for other themes to consider for your 2014 wedding, why not go equestrian? After all, 2014 is the Chinese Year of the Horse.
